I have designed the next generation of Instrument Cluster and Head-Up Display (HUD) systems for future Land Rover vehicles. Due to confidentiality, I’m unable to share specific details of the project at this time. However, the images below show the Instrument Cluster and HUD from the current Range Rover, released in 2022.
In this role, I was responsible for the complete layout of content within both the Cluster and HUD. My work involved integrating insights from user research conducted on the new hardware, ensuring the design responded directly to real-world findings. I also worked closely with regulatory requirements to guarantee that all necessary information was presented clearly and compliantly for global markets.
The biggest challenge was designing an interface that communicates complex information at a glance without overwhelming the driver. Balancing clarity, usability, and safety was key to reducing cognitive load and minimising distraction behind the wheel.
